The match ended in a 1-1 draw, so both powerhouses began their campaigns with one point each.
The game also marked the beginning of new chapters on the sidelines.

One of the highlights of the UEFA Nations League will take place on September 26, when England hosts Spain at Wembley in Group A3.
It will be a rematch of the 2024 Euro final, which Spain won 2-1 in Berlin.
The group promises to be extremely challenging because it also includes Croatia and the Czech Republic.
After visiting London, Spain will host Croatia on September 29, while England will travel that same day to face the Czech Republic.
For Hispanic fans in the United States, this England-Spain match is one of the must-see games of the first matchday, given the quality of both teams and the recent history of that European final.
Belgium-France Caps Off a Spectacular Week

Another high-profile matchup in the UEFA Nations League will be Belgium vs. France, scheduled for September 28.
Both teams are in Group A1 along with Italy and Turkey.
Before facing each other, France will visit Turkey this Friday, September 25, while Belgium will take on Italy.
The UEFA Nations League is just getting started, but this first round of matches already has the feel of a knockout stage.
And there will be a rematch: France will host Belgium again on October 5, while Spain and England will face off again on November 15.
