The wife of singer Julián Oro Duro was killed, and he is in critical condition

Just a few days after a violent incident was reported at the home of musician Jonathan Meléndez, a member of Camilo Séptimo, another case of violence shocked the entertainment world. This time, the victim was Zeneida Socorro Castillo, the wife of Dominican singer Gilberto Julián Sarante Perdomo, known by his stage name Julián Oro Duro.
The attack took place at the couple’s home in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic, and resulted in the death of Zeneida, 60, as well as serious injuries to the renowned merengue singer.
According to information released by journalist and former manager of the singer, Roberto Sánchez, the events took place around 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 20.
Two motorcyclists arrived at singer Julián Oro Duro’s home
According to the account released by the journalist, two men on a motorcycle arrived at the house while Zeneida was home alone. Julián Oro Duro was out of town at the time.
The assailants allegedly subdued the woman and then inflicted injuries that ultimately led to her death. Afterward, they remained at the residence, waiting for the singer.
Julián Oro Duro returned home around 1 a.m. on Monday, September 21, at which time he was allegedly attacked by the criminals.
The singer reportedly tried to prevent them from taking his life as well, and, according to statements released by Roberto Sánchez, he offered the attackers money and some valuables in exchange for sparing his life.
Following the attack, the interpreter was rushed to the Plaza de la Salud General Hospital, where he remains under medical care.
The medical center reported that Julián Oro Duro is in stable condition, conscious, and under observation, although the injuries he sustained are serious.
According to the medical report released by the institution, the singer has multiple fractures on the left side of his skull and face and a left frontal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the artist remains under medical observation as he continues to recover from the violent incident that occurred at his home.
Authorities are investigating the murder of the Dominican man’s wife
Following the attack, Dominican authorities launched an investigation to determine what happened and locate the two suspects.
Prosecutor Wilson Díaz reported that officers found various items of clothing and objects out of place inside the home, as well as bloodstains—all of which could be relevant to the investigation.
Meanwhile, the police reported that the preliminary forensic medical report on Zeneida Socorro Castillo indicates that she suffered craniofacial trauma and a stab wound to the left side of her neck.
So far, authorities are working to determine the motive for the attack, reconstruct what happened inside the home, and establish the identity and whereabouts of the two assailants. Meanwhile, Zeneida’s death and the serious injuries sustained by Julián Oro Duro have caused shock and distress among the Dominican singer’s family, friends, and fans.
