Historic! The Brewers Reach 100 Wins for the First Time and Hold Off the Phillies
Por Carlos Rodríguez ·

The Milwaukee Brewers made history by reaching 100 wins in a season for the first time, after defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 at Citizens Bank Park. The result made Milwaukee the first MLB team to reach that milestone in 2026 and delayed Philadelphia’s qualification for the postseason.
The win brought the Brewers’ record to 100-59, far surpassing the franchise win record they had set just days earlier. Milwaukee has also clinched the National League Central Division title and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
Milwaukee Makes History with 100 Wins

Sal Frelick opened the scoring with an RBI double in the second inning, but Bryce Harper responded in the third with a single that tied the game at 1-1.
The game remained tied through the eighth inning.
That’s when Milwaukee struck hard.
Jake Bauers hit a single that brought Jackson Chourio home to break the tie.
Cooper Pratt and Joey Ortiz added RBI singles to build a 4-1 lead.
Chourio put the finishing touch on the game in the ninth inning with a solo home run—his 25th of the season—to seal the 5-1 victory.
The Venezuelan had entered the game as the designated hitter, replacing William Contreras.
On the mound, JoJo Romero earned the win, while José Alvarado took the loss.
Antonio Senzatela recorded the final five outs to earn his fourth save of the season (Filed under: Milwaukee Brewers Reach Historic 100 Wins).
The Phillies Lose and Are Worried About Arráez

The night brought even more disturbing news for Philadelphia.
Luis Arráez, the National League’s batting leader, left the game in the sixth inning with a sprained left ankle after trying to avoid a tag at first base.
The Phillies announced that he would undergo further evaluation.
Philadelphia was looking to keep alive its chances of securing its fifth consecutive playoff appearance, but the loss once again put the celebration on hold.
Their next opportunity will come against the Tampa Bay Rays, with Cristopher Sánchez scheduled to start the first game of the series.
Andrew Painter, at least, put in an encouraging performance: he pitched six innings, allowed one run, struck out eight, and walked three.
In addition, Jesús Luzardo said he feels he has recovered from the inflammation in his left shoulder and hopes to be available next week if Philadelphia advances to the playoffs.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, will close out the regular season at home with three games against the St. Louis Cardinals before turning its full attention to its October challenge (Filed under: Milwaukee Brewers Reach Historic 100 Wins).
