Alejandro Fernández was reportedly one of the artists being considered to perform alongside Carín León during her residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. However, the alleged collaboration never materialized, according to information shared by Gustavo Adolfo Infante on the show *Sale el Sol*.
The journalist stated that “El Potrillo” was being considered to appear as a special guest at one of the Sonoran singer’s performances. However, so far neither artist has publicly confirmed that an agreement to share the stage has been reached, so this report remains merely a journalistic claim.
The news drew particular attention because Carín León did feature well-known Mexican musicians at her concerts in Las Vegas, including Pepe Aguilar, Cristian Castro, and Lupe Esparza.
The rumor started after a concert was canceled
Gustavo Adolfo Infante’s comments came after a difficult weekend for Carín León, marked by the cancellation of one of her performances at Sphere.
The journalist, who was present when the cancellation took place, later recounted some details of what happened on television and mentioned that Alejandro Fernández was among the names being considered to accompany the singer of “Primera Cita.”
However, Infante did not explain the reasons why Alejandro Fernández allegedly did not show up, nor did he elaborate on whether there had been any issues between the two artists’ teams. It also remained unclear whether his participation had been formally agreed upon or was simply one of the possibilities being considered for the show.
The potential collaboration would have generated particular interest because Carín León and Alejandro Fernández belong to different generations of Mexican music and have previously performed together on stage.
Carín León ran into a setback in Las Vegas
Carín León’s residency was also marked by the cancellation of the performance scheduled for September 10. The singer himself explained that he had difficulty traveling from Hermosillo after two planes he was supposed to take experienced mechanical problems, which prevented him from arriving in Nevada.
The performer later returned to Sphere to continue his concert tour. During his most recent performances, he once again performed before thousands of fans and welcomed various guests on stage.
Among the performers who took part in his residency were Pepe Aguilar and Bronco, who joined a show designed specifically for the venue’s immersive format.
The residency made Carín León one of the Mexican artists who have brought the country’s music to this Las Vegas venue, generating excitement both for her musical style and for the guest artists.
Alejandro Fernández also had concerts in Las Vegas
While Carín León’s performances were taking place, Alejandro Fernández also had musical engagements scheduled in Las Vegas throughout September. Among them was a performance scheduled for September 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The fact that both artists were in the city at the same time further fueled speculation about a possible collaboration.
For now, Alejandro Fernández’s alleged participation in Sphere remains unconfirmed. Neither “El Potrillo” nor Carín León has explained whether there was actually an agreement for them to sing together or why the collaboration—if it had been planned—did not ultimately take place.
