Seven years after becoming one of the biggest phenomena in cinema, *Avengers: Endgame* once again demonstrated the power of the Marvel franchise. Its highly anticipated re-release in theaters once again topped the box office, driven by an extended version of the film that includes previously unreleased footage related to the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Avengers: Doomsday.
The new release, titled *Avengers: Endgame Encore*, piqued the curiosity of both fans of the franchise and a new generation of viewers, who flocked to theaters to discover the additional scenes that connect the 2019 finale with the future of the Avengers.
Avengers: Endgame ‘Encore’: A new version with exclusive content

The re-release includes four minutes of previously unseen footage, spread across four completely new scenes. Although the main story of *Endgame* remains intact, these sequences serve as a narrative bridge to *Doomsday*, a film scheduled to premiere on December 18 in theaters worldwide.
One of the developments that has generated the most anticipation is Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Universe. After saying goodbye to Tony Stark and Iron Man in *Endgame*, the actor will return to the franchise as a completely different character: Doctor Doom, one of the most iconic villains in the comics.
The decision has sparked numerous theories among fans of the studio, who believe that this new role will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the saga.
Upon its original release in 2019, *Avengers: Endgame* grossed $2,885 million worldwide, becoming the second-highest-grossing film in history.
Now, with this new release, the film grossed $86 million during its return to theaters—a figure that allowed it to top the box office once again and confirmed that public interest in The Avengers remains enormous.
A success story that continues to make history

The film is available in IMAX and Infinity Vision formats, a Disney certification for theaters that offer large-format screens, high-definition images, and surround sound, with the aim of providing a more immersive experience for viewers.
Behind the Marvel phenomenon, the latest installment in the Resident Evil franchise took second place with $23.3 million in the United States and a global total of $196 million after two weeks in theaters.
Third place went to *Heart of the Beast*, starring Brad Pitt, which grossed 20 million at the U.S. box office and 50 million worldwide.
Fourth place went to *Primetime*, starring Robert Pattinson, with $19.1 million, while the animated film *Forgotten Island* rounded out the Top 5 with $12.8 million.
With this successful return, *Avengers: Endgame* proves that, even years after its release, it remains one of the films best able to draw crowds and keep the excitement for the Marvel Cinematic Universe alive.
