American singer Beyoncé took advantage of the Fourth of July holiday in her country to release her first new song in the last two years.

The superstar released “Morning Dew (Donk),” which she co-wrote with Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, and which was also produced by Williams, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR).

The track, which will be included in the 20th-anniversary edition of her second album, “B’Day,” and kicks off the 60-day countdown to that reissue, will coincide with her upcoming birthday on September 4.

“B’Day” was originally released on September 4, 2006, Beyoncé’s 25th birthday. It was her second number-one album, selling more than 541,000 copies in its first week of release and featuring hits such as “Irreplaceable” and “Ring the Alarm.”

“Morning Dew” was released with a black-and-white lyric video featuring archival footage, directed by Cliff Watts, who photographed Beyoncé’s cover for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2007, according to THR.

The song is a “special gift for her fans” and “a direct nod to her loyal BeyHive (the name given to the diva’s fans),” according to a statement from Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s agency.

“Morning Dew” is Beyoncé’s first new song since the release of her country album “Cowboy Carter” in March 2024, which earned her her first—and long-awaited—Grammy for Album of the Year.

Before winning, she was the female artist with the most nominations without ever having won in that category, despite being the most awarded singer in Grammy history.

The new song arrives just as his fans were eagerly awaiting new music and news about the much-rumored album “Act III,” which would complete the three-act project that began with “Renaissance” and continued with “Cowboy Carter,” according to the music magazine, as reported by Agencia EFE.
