The recent arrest of Nicolás Maduro, derived from a military operation led by the United States in Venezuela, has generated a wave of reactions in different areas, including show business. Several artists linked to the television media have publicly expressed their relief and satisfaction at the departure from power of someone they consider a dictator, sharing messages of hope and well-being for what they interpret as a historic change for the South American country.
However, not all entertainment voices have agreed with this position. In the midst of the celebrations and statements in favor of the intervention, the opinion of a well-known actor who has openly defended the Venezuelan government and who has also made personal confessions that have attracted a great deal of attention has also emerged.
Actor Fernando Carrillo has been one of the most visible figures in this media debate. In recent days, he participated in several analysis and debate programs broadcast by Telemundo and other international networks, where he described the intervention led by then U.S. President Donald Trump as an act of violence against his country. From his perspective, the events in Venezuela do not represent a liberation, but an unjustified aggression.
This stance generated controversy, especially among Venezuelan colleagues who have expressed diametrically opposed opinions. However, Carrillo went beyond the political discussion and surprised the public with a personal revelation that quickly captured international attention.
The confession about Delcy Rodriguez

During a live connection with the channel Chilevisión, Fernando Carrillo confirmed that in the past he had a sentimental relationship with Delcy Rodríguez, who was vice-president of Venezuela and who was recently sworn in as interim president in the absence of Maduro. The actor spoke in detail about this relationship and defended Rodriguez from accusations that she is an alleged traitor within the power environment.
“I know her very well, she was my partner and I am sure that the betrayal did not come that way, never in life,” Carrillo affirmed. He added that their relationship spanned three years and described her as “the most intelligent woman” he has ever met. He even assured that, with hindsight, Delcy Rodríguez has been “the great love” of his life, highlighting her character, her loyalty to her family and her commitment to what he considers the defense of his homeland.
Fierce debate on the words of Fernando Carrillo

The actor also participated in the program En casa con Telemundo, where he reiterated his position by denying that Venezuela has been under a dictatorship. This statement provoked immediate disagreements with other Venezuelan guests present in the program, such as Aleska Genesis, Andy Salandy and singer Karina, who expressed their rejection of this view.
Carrillo regretted that several artists were celebrating what happened and assured that, from their point of view, they were celebrating an attack against their own country. In response, Salandy and Karina clarified that it was not a bombing against the population, but an operation that they described as “surgical”, carefully planned and directed, whose objective was to liberate Venezuela from what they consider an oppressor of human rights.
Thus, while the Venezuelan political panorama continues to generate divisions, the debate has also moved to the show business arena, evidencing conflicting positions even among public figures of the same country.
