American musician Bruce Springsteen announced Tuesday a 20-concert tour of the United States with the E Street Band that will begin on March 31 in Minneapolis and conclude on May 27 in Washington D.C.
«We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of American democracy, freedom, the Constitution and the American dream, all under attack from our would-be kingmaker and his corrupt government in Washington D.C.,» Springsteen said on social media in reference to U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he has been critical of on several occasions.
Springsteen noted that the country is living through «dark, disturbing and dangerous times.»
«But do not despair, the cavalry is on its way. Everyone, regardless of your political views or what you believe in, is welcome. So come out and join the nation of the United Free Republic of E Street for an American springtime of rock and rebellion,» the singer added.
It is a joint tour between Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band that will be named after the song ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’, released in 2001.
Bruce Springsteen and his U.S. tour dates
The U.S. tour will kick off on March 31 with a concert in Minneapolis and will bring the curtain down on May 27 in Washington, D.C.
The city that will host the most concerts will be New York -two at Madison Square Garden and one in Brooklyn-, followed by Inglewood (California), which will host two concerts.
The cross-country route will also feature one-day events in San Francisco, Phoenix, Atlanta, Texas, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia, among other cities.
Last January 28, Springsteen released the song ‘Streets of Minneapolis’ in protest of the violence by federal immigration agents in the city, which left the death of Americans Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Springsteen, known for his music with a political message, has strongly criticized Trump’s policies since 2016 and last year released the live Extended Play (EP) ‘Land of Hope & Dreams’, which included in-concert comments on what he called a «corrupt and incompetent» administration, Agencia EFE reported.
